6 years of waiting are over. The great families of Westeros are finally going to war. Let’s take a look!
This fall’s first “event television” is coming September 20th to HBO. It’s a two hour concert special with 40 songs from the Jay-Z and Beyoncé On The Run tour and I promise it will be all anyone talks about for days before and after. The Carters are collectively worth an estimated half a billion dollars and while they’ve been the topic of much gossip since the infamous Met Gala elevator incident there’s no doubt that these two put on one hell of a show.
If you missed the best trailer for a movie that doesn’t exist directed by Melina Matsoukas starring Sean Penn, Don Cheadle, Guillermo Diaz, Emmy Rossum, Jake Gyllenhaal, Blake Lively, Rashida & Kidada Jones that was released for the tour back in May check it out… Continue reading “Beyoncé & Jay-Z “On the Run” Coming to HBO September 20th”
File this one under “wait, what? Seriously?” HBO has signed a deal with Amazon making Amazon Prime Instant the exclusive streaming partner for their entire back catalogue of amazing television shows. Ugh.
Whenever someone asks me about a movie one of my two standing jokes is _”everyone dies at the end”_. The problem with saying that about Game of Thrones is that may yet turn out to be a legitimate spoiler, as the new poster for season 4 makes clear.
Here’s a first look at the upcoming fourth season of Game of Thrones. 15 minutes worth of look, in fact. You may want to go in blind and I wouldn’t blame you, however rest assured that even if this does spoil something minor for you you can rest assured: there’s going to be crazy shocking left turns in this season, just like _every_ season so far. George R. R. Martin’s books are replete with death, destruction, sex, betrayal, battles, politics, and weird language, so there’s plenty in them to surprise you.
Game of Thrones got a new trailer for their upcoming season tonight and you know what? It looks _awesome_.
_Posting will be slow this week as I am on holiday._
HBO has a new show starting in 2014 in which Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson track a serial killer over a number of years. Yes, it looks as good as it sounds judging by this trailer.
Game of Thrones is going to be good. There’s little doubt in my mind of this fact because:
1. The source material is good
2. The source material filtered down through the people at HBO has been amazing so far
3. HBO is still throwing all the money at it
4. It remains perfectly cast
And now this trailer has happened:
First off, it’s bloody brilliant that they’ve used the _Tron: Legacy_ music. It’s a perfect fit for the suspense and tension the trailer is trying to build and it’s just cool to hear it again.
Second, looks like this season won’t be short on action. In fact, if it holds true to the books it’ll be full of action and that’s a good thing.
Third, Cirian Hinds as Mance Rayder? Amazing casting yet again.
Yeah, this is gonna be good. It is known.
