‘Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald’ trailer is here to remind you that Johnny Depp is in this movie

It boggles my mind that they cast Johnny Depp for this entire franchise and Colin Farrell for just the first film, but here we are. In any event, continuing the comic con catch up, here’s the new **Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald** trailer:

I wasn’t the biggest fan of **Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them** if I’m honest. The 1920s world of magic is cool and I liked a lot of the supporting characters, but I didn’t so much like the story nor the main character. This film looks like the world will continue to be cool, but the protagonist will continue to be … fine and the supporting cast will be great. In particular I’m looking forward to Jude Law as young sexy Dumbledore, but the obvious other side of that coin is that they cast Johnny Depp, in full-blown ridiculous hair mode, to be the bad guy in this. I want to say I suppose it’s fitting that he’s a villain but honestly: Johnny Depp beat his wife, I don’t think he should be working at all.

It will be interesting to see how they play the relationship between Dumbledore and Grindelwald, also. J.K. Rowling has previously made it clear that they were in love, but I don’t really have much faith that Warner Brothers will let that make it to screen.

Also, I don’t really understand how the _Fantastic Beasts_ thing is the brand of this new franchise, but I suppose that will be made clear in the movie.

**Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald** will hit theatres on November 16th, Johnny Depp and all. Here are two posters for you as well: one for Comic Con and one for the IMAX release.
