Because of course there is. Now, I’m pretty cynical about this kind of stuff. I mean, it’s a _Lego_ movie; otherwise known as _an extended toy commercial_. However, there’s some talent behind this so let’s watch.

The movie seems to know it’s material and to their credit Lego seems to have licensed all the characters and properties they possibly can. It even appears that Batman is a main character.

More importantly though, did you catch the “From The Directors of Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs” card? Those guys are Phil Lord and Chris Miller. They also directed last years 21 Jump Street and created one of my favourite underrated animated shows, Clone High.

Plus, with Chris Pratt, Morgan Freeman, Will Arnett and Elizabeth Banks in the main voice roles, well, this could turn out to be a pretty fun toy commercial.

We’ll have to wait until February 2014 to find out though.
