There’s plenty of reasons to be excited about _The Wolf of Wall Street_: Scorsese directed, DiCaprio, Hill, and McConaughey starring, I mean what else could you ask for? And here’s two new posters. Hurrah!

Introducing…Great Moments Of The Generation
Well, that’s it.
As of 12:01am this morning, as Microsoft released the Xbox One to counter Sony’s one-week PS4 lead in the new generation, our shiny home consoles that have been the source of much gaming pleasure over the last eight years officially became last-generation technology. It’s hard to predict just where the new consoles will take us (and probably we won’t really know for another year or so), but it’s a great time to reflect and take a look at what the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii added to our gaming lexicon.

Devil’s Knot Trailer + Poster: Colin Firth Investigates The West Memphis Three
In 1993 three young boys went missing and were later found murdered. A short time later three teenagers were arrested and charged for the murders after one of the teens, a kid with an IQ of 72, confessed that they had killed the three boys after twelve hours of interrogation with no parents of lawyers present.
The teens were tried with the prosecution asserting that the killings were part of a satanic ritual and the teens were found guilty despite evidence they may not have been involved and a potential alternate suspect who was not pursued.
This is exactly the type of difficult subject matter that Canadian film maker Atom Egoyan excels at making.

Review: The Hunger Games: Catching Fire
It’s hard to believe that it has only been a year and a half since _The Hunger Games_ came out. There has been a string of young adult books adapted into movies following the success of Harry Potter, most of them featuring an up and coming young actor in the lead surrounded by Hollywood veterans, usually fighting against some oppressive regime. The Hunger Games was no different. Jennifer Lawrence was aiming for her big break and Lionsgate was looking for a new cash cow.
The film itself wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t really _good_ either. Suffering from a small budget and a weak screenplay it fell comfortably into the “good enough” category and made enough money to warrant adapting the rest of the series into movies.
It’s a good thing too because where _The Hunger Games_ was just good enough, _The Hunger Games: Catching Fire_ is actually really good.
Robocop International Trailer: Better, But Still Not Good
I’m still of the opinion that Robocop does not need to be remade however this new international trailer makes it look less terrible than the domestic trailers have. Let’s watch!

Sony Says More Of The Spider-Man Universe Is Headed To Screens

Some Velvet Morning Trailer: Stanley Tucci and Alice Eve Have A Complicated Relationship
Stanley Tucci and Alice Eve are both talented actors and in this new film from Niel LaBute it looks like they basically get to have a 2 hour long argument. I’m down with that. Let’s watch!
These Might Be The Titles for the Superman vs. Batman Movie
We’re all wondering what _Man of Steel 2_, otherwise knows as _Superman vs. Batman_ on the web and _Warner Brothers Cynically Adds Batman To Superman Movies_ here at Awesome Friday HQ, is actually going to be called. We can now add a whole much of fuel to the speculation fire as Warner Brothers has registered a boat load of terrible domains.

How To Train Your Dragon 2 Poster: Hiccup Isn’t An Awkward Teen Anymore

Watch This: Companion Short Film to Gravity
Gravity is [one of the better cinema going experiences we’ve had this year](https://awesomefriday.ca/2013/10/review-gravity/). There’s one pivotal scene in which Sandra Bullock’s character makes radio contact with the ground but rather than Houston as she’d hoped it’s with someone who doesn’t speak English on a short wave radio.
Now you can see the other side of that conversation. If you haven’t seen the film you may want to wait however this doesn’t spoil the plot of Gravity at all.

Review: Europa Report
It’s hard to know where to begin with *Europa Report*. Not because it’s bad; it’s really not. More that the measure of what it *might* have been is heavy enough to weigh the final product down. For all the talk of it being a return to real, “hard” science fiction, the film turns out to be just another adequate space thriller.
