Marvel Announced Ant-Man Sequel, ‘Ant-Man and The Wasp’, for 2018 + 3 New Movies for 2020

Paul Rudd + Evangeline Lily

Holy crap, Marvel has updated their film schedule again with a sequel to Ant-Man titled Ant-Man and The Wasp. This will be the second film with a heroine’s name in the title (Captain Marvel has been rescheduled, more on that in a moment) which is a good thing. This also makes 2017, 18, 19, and 20 all 3 Marvel movie years, which is nuts.

The Films of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Ranked, Ant-Man Edition

Marvel

It’s been a while since I made one of these lists! There have been two new Marvel films since [last time](https://awesomefriday.ca/2014/08/the-films-of-the-marvel-cinematic-universe-ranked-guardians-of-the-galaxy-edition/) so it’s time to see where they fit into the mix. I rewatched all the Marvel films in the lead up to _Avengers: Age of Ultron_ so the films are still pretty fresh in the mind.

While the movies here are ranked from worst to best, I’m also grouping them into three categories: The ok ones, the good ones, and the great ones. If you’re wondering why there’s no “bad” category it’s both because I still enjoy the “ok” ones and because I can still appreciate the bad ones for the development of characters, story, and themes that run through the entire MCU (even if they’re pretty thin at times). Also also, it’s an exercise in being less negative.

Anyway, let’s get on with this.

Daredevil Review: Too Long, But Pretty Good Anyway

Daredevil

I’ve finally seen all of Daredevil, the first of Marvel’s (current) 5 Netflix shows. So here’s a quick rundown of what I thought of all 13 episodes. TL;DR version? I liked it, but I didn’t love it. Also, this review will contain spoilers. I’ll keep it to a minimum but it is just not going to be possible to avoid them all, and since I like it enough to recommend you watch it, well, … you’re warned anyway.

Awesome ‘Agent Carter’ Series Poster is Awesome

Agent Carter

Marvels next foray into television is an 8 episode mini series about Agent Peggy Carter, master spy, founding member of S.H.I.E.L.D., and generally awesome character.

The series is set in the 40s, post WW2 and post Captain America becoming a capsicle and will depict the early days of the spy organization.

And it has a totally awesome poster!

Agent Carter

Seriously, how awesome is that? I love the retro style.

Agent Carter debuts in January and will complete its full run before Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Returns in March. I, for one, am looking forward to it.

Guardians of the Galaxy Awesome Mix Vol. 1 Is Up For A Grammy

Guardians of the Galaxy Soundtrack

You’re already aware that _Awesome Mix Vol. 1_ is the best sound track this year but just in case you were unsure it’s been nominated for a Grammy award in the _Best Compilation Soundtrack For Visual Media_ category, which is category 58 out of 10,006.

To be fair it does have some good competition in the _American Hustle_ soundtrack and _Wolf of Wall Street_ soundtrack as they’re both chock full of good tunes however neither they nor _Frozen_ or _Get On Up_ speak to the story of the film or the hearts and minds of the audience in quite the same way.

The 57th Grammy Awards are being held in LA on the 8th of February.
