Because it’s gorgeous.
I have to say, the continued red theme is *really* doing it for me. December 15th.
Like, now. Whatever it is, it can wait.
I was quite excited. Then very excited. And now I’m standing and clapping. STAR WARS.
A spark that’ll light the fire.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is released on Blu-Ray today, so we’ve taken the opportunity for a little love letter.
1977 was an important year for me. Firstly, it was the year I was born, so maybe important is a bit of an understatement. It’s the year Elvis died – we shared a month on the planet before his heart skipped away. And on May 25th, Star Wars was released in America.
Well, this is a nice surprise. Disney put together a new *The Force Awakens* trailer for the D23 Festival happening in Japan right now and it shows us loads of the film we haven’t seen yet. Take a look!

The direct of Zootopia, Byron Howard, has released the first poster for the movie. It seems to take place in a world with anthropomorphic animals. In a Disney movie. Weird, right? Is also seems like the primary industry in that world is pun manufacturing. Also weird for a Disney movie. There’s gotta be more to it, right? Some vast conspiracy.
We’ll find out just how deep this mystery runs next spring.

It’s December which means I have pretty much exactly no time to do anything lately but that hasn’t stopped me from seeing a couple of movies, just from writing them up in a timely manner.
But since I’ve seen so many you’re gonna get the shortest version of each of these reviews that I can muster.
Disney Animation Studios has had a bit of a resurgence lately and this fall they’re pretty much going to cement the idea that they are the Disney of animation again with this collaboration with Marvel because both of those names plus a movie that looks like it might be great are going to be mean dolla dolla bills yo.
Or whatever the kids these days are saying. Let’s watch!

If, like me, you consider the high point of modern Disney movies to be all about Ariel, Beast, and Aladdin, then it turns out you’re a massive fan of Glen Keane. Over the course of 37 years Glen had a hand in 20 productions and now, two years after he left Disney, he’s made an animated short for Google’s Spotlight Series. It’s called *Duet*, and you should watch it right now.

Remember _John Carter_? It was made for millions of dollars, was the live action directorial debut of Andrew Stanton, and Disney hoped it would launch a new franchise. It didn’t make any money though and so the franchise to be was put on hold.
Now director Andrew Stanton has tweeted about where things would have gone.

The plot thickens. Or, as it turns out, maybe thins and homogenizes.
