After the tantalising glimpse of the new *Jurassic Park* movie from earlier this week, the first full trailer is now here and gives us a very tasty idea of what’s coming in *Jurassic World*. Let’s watch!

It’s finally real and official: *Just Cause 3* is coming to PC, PS4 and Xbox One next year and, contrary to [earlier rumours](http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=925234), it will be a full-price release with zero micro-transaction bullshit tying it down.
Boom.
There is an annoying tendency for over-explanation at the beginning of games.
If you have the wonderbox that is Sony’s PlayStation Vita, today is a very good day for you. Just don’t plan to get much done for the rest of this month.

The makers of *Incredipede* and *Pineapple Smash Crew*, Colin Northway and Rich Edwards, have thrown a line to the many, many people who love games but maybe don’t have much disposable income.
It’s Free (with subscription) Games time again. Let’s see what goodies are being thrown at our feet this month.

I’m not one to blindly promote products just for the sake of information, so a Blu-Ray release doesn’t usually inspire me to comment. However, when that film is *Edge Of Tomorrow*, and there’s a chance you may have dismissed it at the cinema on account of the worst marketing campaign in recent memory, then I have to try and change your mind. For it’s not just Tom Cruise’s best film in years, it’s also one of the finest slices of sci-fi escapism you’ll ever watch.

I love *Return Of The Jedi*. It’s become a bit of a whipping boy for the original trilogy, with many criticsising the Ewoks as the first grand Lucas mistake of “playing to the kids” in what would become a franchise tradition. However, remember these are the cute furry bears who were about to char-broil Han and Luke alive – presumably to eat them, because spitroasted meat is awesome in any galaxy – and could take down an armoured Imperial Stormtrooper with just rocks and sticks. Adorable little barbarians.

Maybe you [read my review](https://awesomefriday.ca/2014/09/destiny-bang-zoom-eventually-to-the-moon/). Maybe you took the message – that it’s all about the finely-tuned shooting and the loot rather than story progression – and bought a copy to experience it yourself. Maybe you’re enjoying it as much as I was. It was going so well up to a point, but following a few moments of realisation, it’s sat dormant in my hard drive for a week.
So, what changed?
Bungie’s *Destiny* is the biggest game of the year so far and [apparently](http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2014-09-10-activision-destiny-most-successful-new-video-game-franchise-launch-ever) the highest-selling day one digital console release ever, but how does the actual game hold up against the massive expectations?
Well, if you’re a fan of *Halo*’s tight gunplay, then you’ll be in heaven. However, if you’re expecting the kind of intense single-player narrative from Bungie’s days with Master Chief, then it may leave you wanting. But this is one of *Destiny*’s main tricks; wide, open and full of excitement, it invites you to find your own stories.
And what stories they can be.

Take a collection of superstar writers and animators, throw in a sci-fi schoolkid assassination team who will explode if they fail their mission, and lay it out for funding on Kickstarter. The end result is [*Under The Dog*](https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1300298569/under-the-dog), which looks like it could be a fine return to brutal, beautiful sci-fi anime.

I’ll be first to admit that a new addition to Rovio’s *Angry Birds* franchise is not something we’d usually rush to cover. However, when the trailer to *Angry Birds Transformers* looks like it’s ripped directly from a worn VHS and scored with NEW MUSIC FROM THE COMPOSER OF THE 1986 ANIMATED MOVIE, it’s hard to resist the masterful pulls of nostalgia. Watch!
