The Academy Awards Nominations were announced this morning and, unsurprisingly, _American Hustle_ leads the pack with ten nods. Slightly surprisingly, _Gravity_ has the same number of nominations. Also slightly surprisingly, _12 Years a Slave_ has one less with nine. Also unsurprisingly, _The Wolf of Wall Street_ has just five.

The list of nominees shakes out pretty much like you’d expect given how awards season is going so far. _American Hustle_ and _Gravity_ and _12 Years a Slave_ have all the nominations, _Wolf of Wall_ Street has just five, albeit those five are in the big categories.

_Dallas Buyers Club_ also gets six nods. It’ll be interesting to see if McConaughey and Leto take home the acting trophies at this one as well.

Can’t tell if I’m surprised at the near total lack of nominations for _All is Lost_ and _Inside Llewyn Davis_ but it’s a bit disappointing regardless.
