Transformers: Age of Extinction Posters Are Interesting AND Boring.

Transformers: Age of Extinction

There’s a few posters for _Transformers: Age of Extinction_ and they’re kind of boring but also have a few interesting tid bits to mull over. Let’s take a look!

All these posters from from [Yahoo!](http://movies.yahoo.com/photos/transformers-4-movie-stills-1369780896-slideshow/):

Here’s the most boring one, Jack Reynor’s character shot. Might as well have just published a production still.

And here’s the similarly boring Nicola Peltz poster, which is only interesting because last time I know I saw her in anything was the truly awful _The Last Airbender_ in which she was about 12. She’s, uh, grown.

Here’s Optimus Prime’s poster. He’s probably still too complexly designed for a lot of people I know, but I like the redesign. It’s cleaner and clearer and while he still has too many parts, his head is above his shoulders and is much better scale with his body than before. I’m going to call this a win.

Here’s where things get a little interesting. Mark Wahllberg’s poster has him holding a gun of some kind that appears to be a re-purposed sword of some description. Could it be the Star Saber? That was the sword of Primus, the first prime in the cartoons, and it held the Matrix of Leadership in it’s hilt at one point. There are other swords in the transformers canon but this seems most likely, no?

And last but not least, the IMAX poster. A couple things of note here. Look how big the transformer is compared to the tree and surroundings, then look how big the ship in the background is compared to the transformer. _Big_.

Also, who the hell is this anyway. He looks to me like the one who’s face turns into a gun in [the trailer](https://awesomefriday.ca/2014/03/transformers-age-of-extinction-trailer-viral-poster-are-getting-my-hopes-up/), could that be Galvatron? Could the ships be Michael Bay’s version of Unicron? Who knows! If it is Unicron though, those ships had better combine to form a humanoid the size of a planet. And then his head can form a new moon where the Transformers can live separate from the seemingly-now-hostile humans.

So that’s what I have. What do you guys think of the new posters?
