We are living in an era of great ensemble television. As viewers we are being spoiled not only with their work on screen but with cast interaction on social media platforms like twitter. It has the effect of making you feel included in their TV family, and as a result you the viewer feels a sense of loyalty to them. Shows like Chicago Fire, Chicago PD, Grimm & Revenge have been excellent at this. Though nothing could rival the social media power of CW stars, a class on which should be taught at the LaineyGossipFaculty of Celebrity Studies. The best part for me is getting to hear from the cast members who aren’t necessarily the face of the show. The actors who go to work every day and do a great job even though they don’t always have their own storyline. The ones who aren’t going to be promoting it on talk shows. The ones whose names you may not have heard.
The new Marvel TV series _Agent Carter_ doesn’t début for some time yet by _Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D._ starts up again soon and the première episode os going to feature a flashback to the 1940s/50s featuring Hayley Atwell as Agent Carter, Neal McDonough as Dum Dum Durgan, and Kenneth Choi as Jim Morita, all reprising their roles from _Captain America: The First Avenger_. There’s no word on McDonough or Choi joining the cast of _Agent Carter_ just yet but I kind of hope they rope as many of The Howling Commandos in as they can as well as Tommy Lee Jones as General Tommy Lee Jones and Dominic Cooper as Howard Stark as much as possible.
Admittedly, these guys have careers, but hopefully they find some time.
Another week, another adventure with Coulson and Company. As always I’ll be discussing what I feel are the important points in the episode and am assuming you have watched it already. Naturally spoilers will abound.
Ok it has been a while since I wrote about _Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D._ It’s been nearly a month actually and in that time there have been two new episodes.
There are a few reasons for this. The first is that I was on holiday. The second is that, as much as I hate to say it, I haven’t been enjoying the show. So here’s a brief recap of the episodes we missed and the some discussion about the state of the show and where it’s going.
