By now Victoria Pedretti should know better than to go into dark basements by herself, because that where you meet……
Creepy. Fucking. Dolls. I know they’re a staple of horror but creepy dolls are one of the things that weirdly really get to me. Am I the only one? Please tell me I am not the only one.
Oh good, the kid has a lighter. That should work out well.
I can’t put my finger on why, but this “I think the pod might be involved” feeling I am getting won’t go away.
I am not sure these two images are going to end up connected in the series itself, and I know you can’t see it in a still image, but there is something moving around that there dollhouse. No word on if it’s creepy dolls or something else.
These shots are definitely not connected because you can just tell the wardrobe is different. Maybe Pedretti is flashing back to an earlier time? Or being tormented psychically? Or maybe both?
Either way, it is an effective image.
Flanagan and company are really good at putting creepy stuff in the background. This is a more overt example, but just look at the design of the woman there. Also, who is this child looking at? Another creepy doll or mannequin? Or a ghost?
Is anyone else thinking that water might be a motif in the series?
I joke because this creeps me out.
This shot of T’Nia Miller’s head moving as if controlled by some outside entity is also very effective. “Whose dreams are you having?” “The dead.” Excellent.
I am intrigued by this figure with the glowing eyes. He shows up more than once in this trailer, and he looks like something out of an 80s horror movie. Which, to be clear, I kind of love.
People suspended water and a tiny creepy doll. Super.
“I’ve seen things. It’s like I’m in hell.” We’ve already talked about creepy basements, but this shot of Jackson-Cohen looking at the basement door is so classically composed that I can’t wait to find out what’s in the basement.
Also, the dress in the third image look like a period outfit. I wonder if this show is going to play out in two timelines like Hill House did. Hm.
Another classic shot. I believe this is Tahirah Sharif as Rebecca Jessel.
Jackson-Cohen gazing at someone, and Victoria Pedretti unable to sleep. I wonder if he’s the one doing the tormenting?
Boys will be boys. I wonder if Miles is a problem child or if he is acting out because he is being bullied at school. Either would fit!
This image of Henry Thomas hovering over Henry Thomas is by far my favourite image in the entire trailer. Look at the shit-eating grin on his face. Look how disturbed the other Henry is. I love everything about this and I can’t wait to find out the context.
