A May release date in 2018 brings the total to a dozen films between now and May 2019!

Add this to [the list of dates they announced the other day](https://awesomefriday.ca/2014/07/marvel-announces-movie-release-dates-through-2019-including-3-in-2017/) and you get a whole lotta movies.
Here’s the list as it stands right now:
* 1 August 2014 – Guardians of the Galaxy
* 1 May 2015 – Avengers: Age of Ultron
* 17 July 2015 – Ant-Man
* 6 May 2016 – Captain America 3
* 8 July 2016 – Unannounced
* 5 May 2017 – Unannounced
* 27 July 2017 – Unannounced
* 3 November 2017 – Unannounced
* **4 May 2018** – Unannounced
* 6 July 2018 – Unannounced
* 2 November 2018 – Unannounced
* 3 May 2019 – Unannounced
So that’s a lot of movies. I had previously thought that they might be pushing Avengers 3 into 2019 to make way for more new characters in phase three but maybe now that’s not the case. A may date in 2018 is a good date for another Avengers film and then that leaves three in phase 4 to explore some new territory after the Infinity Gauntlet story is resolved. Or maybe they stretch that out into phase 4? Who knows.
We know we’re getting _Doctor Strange_ and we are all but certain we’ll get _Ms. Marvel_, fair chance at Black Panther (which I imagine they’ll just call Panther), there’s also _Thor 3_ to consider and _Guardians of the Galaxy 2_ but there’s a whole lotta Marvel characters in the stable so it’s a really awesome time to be a Marvel nerd.
