Channing Tatum wants to play Gambit and it looks like Lauren Schuler Donner will grant him his wish.

Speaking to [Total Film](http://www.totalfilm.com/news/lauren-shuler-donner-confirms-channing-tatum-gambit-casting#null) she was asked about who would play Gambit she replied “It is Channing” and when asked to confirm it was him she simply said “yes.”

And when asked why Channing Tatum she replied:

> Well, he’s a rogue, Channing, he’s a rascal, just like Remy LeBeau. And he can handle the action, we all know that. And he’s got a really good heart, because I know him personally, I did a movie [2006’s She’s the Man] with him. So I think he’ll be great. He’ll be great for Gambit. And he’s a Southerner, too. He’s not from New Orleans, but he is a Southerner, he understands that world. And you know Gambit loves New Orleans.

So we can pretty much expect Gambit to appear in 2016s _X-Men: Apocalypse_. More importantly she mentioned both _X-Force_ and _Deadpool_ so maybe those will actually happen at some point. Maybe.
