Thor is out in many place already, [that’s how our UK Office was able to see and review it already](https://awesomefriday.ca/2013/11/review-thor-2-the-dark-world/) but here in North America is debuts this weekend. What better way to lead into that experience than by reminding yourself that the first Thor movie wasn’t all that good!

Ok it has been a while since I wrote about _Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D._ It’s been nearly a month actually and in that time there have been two new episodes.
There are a few reasons for this. The first is that I was on holiday. The second is that, as much as I hate to say it, I haven’t been enjoying the show. So here’s a brief recap of the episodes we missed and the some discussion about the state of the show and where it’s going.

The latest edition of Marvel’s assault on cinemas everywhere is a charming little beast. Thor was always going to be one of the more difficult characters to make the transition from inky page to silver screen, (certainly when compared to his Avengers brethren) but given most of the legwork was done in *Thor* and *The Avengers*, very little time is wasted getting on with the plot, such as it is. Rather than *The Dark World*, they should have called it *The Wibbly Wobbly Time/Space Shifting Shenanigans*. Anthony Hopkins knocks out a bit of exposition (primarily to let you know who to boo – it’s evil elves this time, led by Malekith, played by a virtually indistinguishable Christopher Eccleston) and on with the show we go.
I’ve been looking forward to this one for a while, we finally have a trailer for Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Let’s watch!

There’s a new poster for _Captain America: The Winter Soldier_! Let’s take a look!
Another week, another adventure in the Marvel universe. This week’s _Agent’s of S.H.I.E.L.D._ has a few twists and turns, ish. As with last week I’m not going to do a straight recap but rather just talk about the key points as I see them, things of interest that I’ve noticed, and anything else that I find cool (or not).
This will assume you’ve watched the show so yes of course there will be spoilers.
So let’s take a look at _”The Asset”_.

I’ve been on holiday so my plan to start recapping Marvel’s Agent’s of S.H.I.E.L.D. is now a week late. That being said, I now have two episodes to talk about and that’s going to work mostly because these episodes function as two halves of a whole.
I’m not going to do a straight recap of each episode each week but rather talk about what I feel the key points are, a few things I’ve noticed, and anything that I find cool (or not so cool) in general.
There will be spoilers so make sure you’ve watched before you read. And with that, let’s get this show on the road!!

Marvel is really kicking things into high gear. Their series of films basically already owns the box office at your local theatre and with Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. premiering next week they’re hoping to dominate the small screen as well. If that one takes off it looks like we may get another series starring Captain America’s girlfriend Peggy Carter.

Try saying that five times fast.
So far we’ve had character posters for [Thor and Loki](https://awesomefriday.ca/2013/08/thor-and-loki-character-posters-from-thor-the-dark-world/) which were kind of bland. Now Marvel has released one for Malekith, _The Dark World’s_ big bad. It is, in a word, way better.
Oh wait that’s two words.

We’ve been wondering for a while and now it’s been confirmed: Bradley Cooper is Rocket Raccoon! Women of the world rejoice! I mean, not really because it’s a CGI raccoon, but still. He’s likely going to be the breakout character of the movie.
Yes, James Spader of Boston Legal, The Office, Stargate, and Lincoln!
Promotion for _Thor: The Dark World_ is starting to ramp up as it’s out in the fall, and now we finally have some character posters and of course one of them is Loki. Heaven forbid we highlight the rest of the cast.
