I walked out of my showing of Godzilla with incredibly mixed feelings. It’s not a bad movie, but it’s not a great one either. It suffers from pacing issues and some stiff performances, but it also has a big ass monster fight in the style of the 30-odd movies that have come before this one.

2010’s Kick-ass was a movie not without problems, but what problems it had were easy to forget because it was actually fun. Even as a life long fan of comics 2010’s Kick-Ass surprised me. I left that theatre with a big ol’ grin on my face because the movie was such a good time. Now Kick-Ass 2 is coming.
A couple of things strike me:
* Wow, Jim Carrey doesn’t look like Jim Carrey. I like it.
* The tone seems to be intact, but I’m dubious with the directorial change
* Chloe Moretz does not look 15 anymore.
And here’s a new poster. Huzzah!
