Some of the funniest jokes in 22 Jump Street, including an entire montage during the end credits, were all the teasing of future sequels. These were all making fun of the notion that the studio would take their success and then run it into the ground by endlessly sequelizing it.
So now the studio is taking that success and starting to endlessly sequelize it.

Every time someone makes a movie out of some property from my childhood I pretty much expect it to be a cheap cash in. Call me cynical (I do) but there it is. Fortunately this isn’t always the case and 21 Jump Street is one of the best examples of what a movie version of something from my childhood can be.
Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill both shine in a great story about friendship and dealing with your past which is cleverly written full of meta humour which makes fun of basically every aspect of this kind of film making. Directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller bring their awesome touch as well, the film has great timing and pacing. At the end of the day it’s hilarious and fun and a great addition to your library especially now as the sequel is due in a weeks time. You can use the links below to grab your copy and help us keep the lights on around here.
Thanks and enjoy your weekend!
Remember how 21 Jump Street turned out to be smart and hilarious rather than just another by the numbers remake of an 80s property? Looks like the sequel might be good too. Let’s watch!

Now there’s trailers, and here’s the red band one. Definitely NSFW so put on headphones.
