WFF ’21 Quick Review: ‘A Wicked Eden’ offers a glimpse into a fascinating world

There’s a whole world of sexual proclivities out there. The world of the dominatrix and the submissive is represented in media fairly thoroughly but often without much depth. A Wicked Eden changes that, taking a deep dive into the world of Alexandra Snow, a popular dominatrix.

The film covers nearly all aspects of Snow’s life, from her set up as an internet performer, business owner, and woman existing in the world. It chronicles how she found empowerment and shares it with others and how her chosen life impacts her life and relationships. This makes it sound like things are bad, and while there is a divorce at one point and difficulties dating, there are also friendships and community.

A Wicked Eden is a frank discussion of sex work and an honest depiction of someone living that life. While the subject matter might still be considered scandalous by some, it’s still a fascinating look into a specific world.
