True story, I low-key love the 90s teen witch film The Craft, and I always have. A sequel seems like something that would have happened ages ago, but never did. Weird, given that while the film didn’t do gangbusters business it did turn a profit and go on to be a cult classic.
In any event, there is a sequel coming out now, so let’s take a look at the trailer.
Well, that certainly is a trailer. I don’t quite know what to make of it though. David Duchovny and Michelle Monaghan are welcome sights, and each of the four young women playing the new coven (Cailee Spaeny, Gideon Adlon, Lovie Simone, and Zoey Luna) seems to correspond to the original four. Plus, the image of Fairuza Balk confirms that the film is indeed a legacy sequel, so who knows how that’s going to tie into things.
The Craft: Legacy is slated to land “at the witching hour” on October 28th which probably means at least one of two things: either there is a worldwide pandemic on, or Blumhouse doesn’t have a lot of faith in the movie. Can’t wait to find out which!
A poster was also released today and it’s totally fine.
