There’s a new TV spot for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and it’s the first spot for this movie that makes me think I might like to see it! More importantly it features a new ninja rap. Unfortunately it’s not by Vanilla Ice like it was in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 back in the 1990s but it’s a nice little callback whether they meant it to be or not. Who knows maybe this song will embody the style of the 2010s in the same way Ninja Rap did the early 1990s?
Here is the spot:
Notice this is the first trailer that isn’t just a stylistic rehash of Amazing Spider-Man and/or The Transformers series. It actually has decent photography and some interesting banter from the Turtles. This trailer, at a minute long, has me more interested than the rest of the advertising combined.
You hear that music in the background though? That’s an all new hip hop song called “Shell Shocked” by Juicy J, Wiz Khalifa, and Ty Dolla $ign featuring Kill The Noise and Madsonik. Take a listen to that here:
It’s actually pretty catchy. Maybe not in the good way, but it’s catchy. To be perfectly honest though unless it’s improvised by the artists after the turtles crash into a dock side night club during the big final fight with Shredder? I’m not sure I’m going to like it in the movie. Good thing that it’ll probably be over the end credits.
Last but not least here’s one last poster for the film which comes out 8th August where I’m sure it won’t be totally overshadowed by [the movie that comes out a week before](https://awesomefriday.ca/tag/guardians-of-the-galaxy/).
