Even though *The Dark Knight Rises* is one of the biggest cinematic disappointments in recent memory, the first glimpse of a new Christopher Nolan movie still fills me with excitement thanks to *Momento*, *Insomnia*, and the masterpiece that is *Inception*. His new movie, *Interstellar*, is due for release next November. Here’s the first teaser:

 

Exciting stuff. The plot is a mix of future collapse and grabbing at hope:

In the future, governments and economies across the globe have collapsed, food is scarce, NASA is no more, and the 20th Century is to blame. A mysterious rip in spacetime opens and it’s up to whatever is left of NASA to explore and offer up hope for mankind.

Mainly based on the scientific theories and script treatment of renowned theoretical physicist, Kip Thorne.

 

Nolan, sci-fi, spaceflight, and the absolute necessity to reach for the stars. This movie already ticks so many of my boxes, so here’s hoping that it delivers a year from now.
