2014 Will Be Pixar-less

Speaking of Pixar: they have, for better or worse, released a film each year since 2006. There had been years without before that but as they made more money they started doing more work and now the yearly Pixar movie has been something we all look forward to. Well now we have to wait another year because 2014s “_The Good Dinosaur_” has been pushed to 2015.

[ScreenCrush](http://screencrush.com/the-good-dinosaur-pixar-release-date-finding-dory/):

> Shortly after Pixar revealed the first footage, art designs and additional casting for ‘The Good Dinosaur‘ at D23 Expo 2013, director Bob Peterson was pulled from his position. According to the studio, the film still needs more production time and has, therefore, been moved to a later release date in 2015 — but that leaves next year without a feature.

> ‘The Good Dinosaur,’ originally slated to open May 30, 2014, has now been moved to November 25, 2015. ‘Finding Dory,’ first set for that same November date, will now open in summer 2016.

> Said Pixar President Ed Catmull of the decision (via LA Times), ”Nobody ever remembers the fact that you slipped a film, but they will remember a bad film. Our conclusion was that we were going to give the [dinosaur] film some more time.”

The quality of Pixars films has been a topic of discussion lately with many feeling that it’s been sliding recently, especially with a lot of sequels and a prequel rather than new material. That they are saying they want more time to make this one better bodes well given the directorial strife it’s had. Plus, 2015 will be the first year with two Pixar films (Inside Out is due in June that year) so while we’ll have to wait we’ll get doubly rewarded.

And it least it didn’t get cancelled like Newt did.
