There’s a shiny new full trailer for Ant-Man and it looks really good!
Fair warning, this trailer feels like it gives away from plot details. That being said so do most Marvel trailers and they’ve basically all been pretty misleading about what the real story is. You call. Don’t say I never warned you.
You can really see the bones of the Edgar Wright script here but it doesn’t feel like an Edgar Wright movie. You know what though? That’s perfectly ok. Peyton Reed is a good director with great comedic sensibilities and this trailer is pretty damn funny (as I hope the rest of the movie is). It helps that Paul Rudd is pretty much perfect for delivering the lines he’s given and that’s he’s surrounded by other great actors, too.
Ant-Man is the end of Phase 2 of Marvel’s grand experiment, not the start of Phase 3 (that’s Captain America: Civil War next year) so it’ll be interesting to see how it ties into the overreaching storyline set up by Avengers: Age of Ultron next month.
Ant-Man is out 17th July and I, for one, am excited.
