Some stories are beloved by their fans. This isn’t a terrible thing, but it can make stories difficult to adapt for the screen. What parts of the story can you trimmed down? What parts can be excised completely? These are difficult questions, and if your viewers are those that love the text their answer will be "nothing."
It Chapter Two is a long movie. It’s not a poorly made movie or a poorly acted one, but it is long. Too long. Like, way too long, and I feel like the filmmakers didn’t have adequate answers to those two questions I posed above.
Pixar’s next film is Inside Out, and original story about a little girl and all the emotions in her head. Which sounds kind of awesome. Check out this character posters. They’re not that new, but they were releaed while I was, you know, resting.
Most people have an opinion regarding Pixar these days and usually that opinion is either “still the best animation house” or “I wish they’d get back to original stories”. For those of you in that latter camp here’s some good news: Pixar’s latest film is an original story set inside the mind if a 11 year old girl. Let’s watch a trailer!
