Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is released on Blu-Ray today, so we’ve taken the opportunity for a little love letter.
1977 was an important year for me. Firstly, it was the year I was born, so maybe important is a bit of an understatement. It’s the year Elvis died – we shared a month on the planet before his heart skipped away. And on May 25th, Star Wars was released in America.
Well, this is a nice surprise. Disney put together a new *The Force Awakens* trailer for the D23 Festival happening in Japan right now and it shows us loads of the film we haven’t seen yet. Take a look!

Remember how Disney bought everything LucasFilm and thus Star Wars and Indiana Jones? Well, Indiana Jones has historically been distributed by Paramount and that was cause for some concern. Which in Hollywood means “lawyering”. Good news though, the lawyering is over and a deal has been hammered out.

> Lucasfilm has decided to postpone this fall’s scheduled release of Star Wars Episodes II and III in 3D. Given the recent development that we are moving forward with a new Star Wars trilogy, we will now focus 100 percent of our efforts on Star Wars: Episode VII in order to ensure the best possible experience for our fans. We will post further information about our 3D release plans at a later date.
Yet another win. I’m sure they’ll keep milking existing Star Wars to death but for now they’ve decided to make something new before they do it. Hopefully Episode VII turns out good enough that when they inevitably milk it to death I’ll be ok with it.
