‘The Batman’ delayed into 2022, and a number of other schedule changes, too

Who had this one in the betting pool? The Batman, previously schedule for an October 1st 2021 release, has been pushed back to spring 2022.

Remember when Dune was pushed back to October 1st 2021? Well, The Batman was already scheduled there, and they are both Warner Brothers films, so this move was even more inevitable, because why would Warner Brothers release two tentpoles in competition with one another? So The Batman now has a March 4th 2022 release date.

The move results in several other changes, including The Matrix 4 being moved up from spring 2022 to December 2021, The Flash moving from summer to fall 2022, Shazam 2 moving from fall 2022 to June 2023. Black Adam and Minecraft have been taken off the schedule entirely, for now. Yes, Warner Brothers owns a lot of stuff. Easy to forget that in this world of Disney.

Look, this isn’t going to be the last of these stories. The worldwide pandemic is still raging, after all. Hell, Robert Pattinson got COVID-19 while in production on this very movie. At this point a return to normalcy seems a long way off.
