If there’s one thing that we can agree on about the DCEU it’s that Zack Snyder has a particular aesthetic. Blues that look like grey, greens that look like grey, greys that look like darker greys, you get the picture. Turns out that James Wan has a different take on things. Huzzah!
The director of the Jason Momoa starring **Aquaman** tweeted a photo of the film’s female lead Amor Heard in costume as Mera, queen of Atlantis, and holy shit look at all the colour!

After **Man of Steel**, **Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice**, and (from the looks of things) **Justice League**, this is a very welcome change. Seriously, here’s the photo Wan tweeted again side by side with the first photo of Heard as she appears in Justice League:
It’s a stunning difference, to say the least.
I’ve loved comic books my entire life and one thing that I’ve always loved about them is how bright and colourful they are. Marvel has been getting this right for nearly a decade now. Fox has only gotten it right part of the time with X-Men. DC hasn’t gotten it right even once yer but it looks like they’re finally on track to do so. We’ll find out for sure when the movie comes out next Christmas.
