‘A Most Violent Year’ Trailer + Poster: Oscar Isaac Will Be An Oscar Contender Finally

A Most Violent Year / Oscar Isaac

Oscar Isaac, a great up and coming soon-to-be household name starring in a film from J.C. Chandor, a director whose previous films (_Margin Call_ and _All Is Lost_) I loved? Where do I sign?

There’s not a lot to go on plot wise here but damn if it doesn’t look good. Oscar Isaac was robbed last year without even a nomination at the Oscars for _Inside Llewyn Davis_ and I sincerly hope he’s great in this as well. Add Jessica Chastain, David Oyelowo, and Albert Brooks (hopefully in another villain role) to the mix and you’ve got an immediate addition to my must see list for the year.

_A Most Violent Year_ is out in limited release 31st December to qualify for the Oscars and then wide release in the new year.

A Most Violent Year

> A MOST VIOLENT YEAR is a thriller set in New York City during the winter of 1981, statistically one of the most violent years in the city’s history. The film follows the lives of an immigrant (Oscar Isaac) and his family trying to expand their business and capitalize on opportunities as the rampant violence, decay, and corruption of the day drag them in and threaten to destroy all they have built.
