It’s hard to argue with most of this, however this list looks somewhat like what I worried the major awards nominees lists would: _American Hustle_ is up for best film and _The Wolf of Wall Street_ is not. The former is a good movie but the latter is a great one. Scorcese is up for best director as well as DiCaprio for best actor though, so that’s something at least.

Seriously though, it’s gonna be Steve McQueen for best director. _12 Years a Slave_ is fantastic and he’s British.
