Divergent Trailer + Poster + Character Posters: Still Not Sure If I Should Care

Divergent

Young Adult fiction seems like it must be pretty hard to adapt. Harry Potter made all the money, as did Twilight, and it looks like The Hunger Games will too, but most other young adult novels tend to, well, underwhelm.

Divergent is the next franchise to make a run at it, and here’s a proper trailer, theatrical poster, and character posters. Fun!

The gist of the story is that in a nearish future every person is sorted into a different group because they meet specific criteria, and our heroine is one of the few (or not so few) who can’t be specifically defined.

I can see why this is popular young adult fiction

There’s character posters for each of the main characters as well as a theatrical poster. Let’s take a look at those:

Jai Courtney:

Divergent Jai Courtney as Eric

Divergent Maggie Q as Tori

Divergent Mekhi Phifer as Max

Divergent Miles Teller as Peter

Divergent Zoe Kravitz as Christina

Divergent Theo James as Four

Divergent Shailene Woodley as Tris

Divergent

The movie poster is kind of bland but I actually like the character posters, all dark and brooding and dramatic. Hopefully the movie is good. We’ll find out for sure on 21 March 2014.
