Open Grave Trailer: Sharlto Copley Has No Memory and New Friends

Open Grave

Imagine if you will that you’ve just woken up. You’re freezing and you don’t know where you are and you’re surrounded by bodies. Worse yet, you have no memory of who you are or why you’re there. Pretty much you’ve just imagined the opening to _Open Grave_, or at least the opening to the trailer. Let’s watch!

Synopsis:

> A man (Sharlto Copley, DISTRICT 9, ELYSIUM) wakes up in a pit of dead bodies with no memory of who he is or how he got there. Fleeing the scene, he breaks into a nearby house and is met at gunpoint by a group of terrified strangers, all suffering from memory loss. Suspicion gives way to violence as the group starts to piece together clues about their identities, but when they uncover a threat that’s more vicious—and hungry—than each other, they are forced to figure out what brought them all together—before it’s too late.

This looks interesting but maybe a touch predictable. Looks like a “they’er all bad people being punished by the bigger bads in the world” type story, and the bigger bads are monsters. That’s not a bad thing necessarily, there’s plenty of places to go with that idea. Plus Sharlto Copley has gone three for three in film roles so far.

_Open Grave_ hits video on demand on Christmas Eve and theatres 3rd Januray.
