‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ gets two good new trailers and two terrible new posters

Your friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man is coming to theatres for the third first time in under two months which means the marketing is about to kick into high gear. Today we got a new trailer (which is pretty good!) and two new posters (which are pretty awful!). Let’s take a look.

First up, the trailer:

There’s not a lot of new stuff here but the stuff that is here is still pretty solid. It really feels like they got the heart of Spider-Man right which is a massive relief after the boondoggle that was **The Amazing Spider-Man** movies. I also like the look through his eyes:

I really like that the suit has an _Iron Man-esque_ interface with its own AI and everything. I also just really love that the eyes on the suit aren’t static:

I’m not 100% sold on the entire suit, but the eye details really remind me of the Spider-Man comics I grew up reading.

Next up, the new posters.

These are awful. I don’t even know where to start. They look like they outsourced the posters to a 13-year-old with a pirated copy of Photoshop. Why are Spider-Man, Iron Man, and Vulture all in that one poster three times? Why is Happy Hogan in that one at all?

Still not enough to dampen my spirits about this movie. I can’t help but be optimistic because, you know, it’s -Spider-Man_. **Spider-Man Homecoming** comes out on July 7th.

**UPDATE:** Turns out there’s an international trailer too, which is also pretty good, and answers my question about Happy Hogan. He’s actually in the movie in a significant way. So that makes sense.
