Thanks, Back To The Future

Editorial / Comments Off on Thanks, Back To The Future

In 1992, seven years after Back To The Future came out, I bought a guitar and a skateboard, and it was directly responsible for both. One of those lasted no more than a few weeks, gravity and gravel disrupting my dreams of hitching through Peterfield’s sleepy streets. Marty McFly has a lot to answer for.

‘Crimson Peak’ Review: del Toro Delivers A Sensual Ghost Story

Movies, Reviews / Comments Off on ‘Crimson Peak’ Review: del Toro Delivers A Sensual Ghost Story

Crimson Peak / Tom Hiddleston / Mia Wasikowska

Crimson Peak is billed as a scary movie but isn’t scary. It’s also billed as a ghost story but it’s actually just a story that happens to have ghosts in it. What it is is another entry in the Guillermo del Toro catalogue of movies with pitch perfect atmosphere, in this case dark, brooding, and sensual.

VIFF Review: The Lobster

VIFF The Lobster

The Lobster takes place in a world where if you are single for too long you are turned into an animal, and if you really want to be single you have to go live in the woods. It sounds weird, and it is, but it’s also hilarious commentary on our world and relationships and how we sometimes get what’s important wrong. Yes, it’s a bizarre movie, but the best kind of science fiction often is.

The Incredibles

For better or for worse, Incredibles 2 is happening for real. It’ll be released in 2019, a full 15 years after the original. I do not know how I feel about this. Although, it will be nice to have a good Fantastic 4 film again.

News / Comments Off on Marvel Announced Ant-Man Sequel, ‘Ant-Man and The Wasp’, for 2018 + 3 New Movies for 2020

Paul Rudd + Evangeline Lily

Holy crap, Marvel has updated their film schedule again with a sequel to Ant-Man titled Ant-Man and The Wasp. This will be the second film with a heroine’s name in the title (Captain Marvel has been rescheduled, more on that in a moment) which is a good thing. This also makes 2017, 18, 19, and 20 all 3 Marvel movie years, which is nuts.
