A screen legend has passed. Richard Attenborough, actor since 1942, died today just a few days short of his 91st birthday. Best known to many (well, 90s kids like me) as the billionaire who created dinosaurs in Jurassic Park Attenborough had a prolific career spanning 60+ years. He had memorable roles in The Great Escape, Brighton Rock, and the remake Miracle on 34th St as well as directing Robert Downey Jr. in Chaplin and Ben Kingsley in Gandhi, the latter of which won him the Oscar for Best Picture and Best Director.
Truly one of the greats. He will be greatly missed and our thoughts are with his family and friends.
