Jersey Boys Trailer + Poster: Clint Eastwood Directed A Musical About Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons? Where Do I Sign?

Jersey Boys

I’m basically a sucker for music from the 60s, but this does look kinda great.

I know in the back of my mind that Clint Eastwood loves music (and musicals) so I don’t know why his having directed this should surprise me at all, but when I first heard the news it did. Regardless the trailer looks great. I like the fourth wall breaking style, I love the classic songs, and most importantly I love that it doesn’t look like it’s been done in the ridiculous over the top way that so many of these films are. It looks like it might be down to earth and I dig that.

Not sure if anyone will turn up to see a cast of unknowns (off the top of my head I can’t recall ever seeing John Lloyd Young, Erich Bergen, Michael Lomenda, or Vincent Piazza) but it does have Christopher Walken in a supporting role, Eastwoods name above the title, and a lot of classic tunes so I’ll be there when it opens on 20th June.

Here’s the first official poster and plot synopsis:

> From director Clint Eastwood comes the big-screen version of the Tony Award-winning musical “Jersey Boys.” The film tells the story of four young men from the wrong side of the tracks in New Jersey who came together to form the iconic 1960s rock group The Four Seasons.
