It’s Officially Official: Justice League Movie is Happening Officially

Justice League

The CEO of Warner Brothers spoke to the New York Times and let slip that they are going to do the thing that we all knew they were going to do.

> As for DC Entertainment, cross-studio collaboration to make better use of its comic book characters appears to have accelerated considerably since Mr. Tsujihara took over, in part because he eliminated some management layers. (He has not named a chief operating officer and did not replace Mr. Rosenblum and Mr. Robinov, choosing instead to divide up their duties and assume some himself.) Two new television shows are coming to the CW and Fox, including one based on the Flash and another on a young Batman, and a film series will be announced in the near future, Mr. Tsujihara said. It is expected to include a “Justice League” movie.

I don’t know what they mean by announcing a film series, they’ve basically done that already, they just haven’t officially said it was going to be Justice League before. Still, now it seems they have a plan for these things beyond cheeseball TV shows and “put Batman in the movies”.

That begs the question though, with Green Arrow and Flash having their own TV shows how are they going to factor into the movies? Is it a shared universe or not? And if the universe is shared how are they going to reconcile the utter cheese that _Arrow_ is (and presumably _The Flash_ will be) with the “dark and gritty” tone they set with Man of Steel? What about Green Lantern? The Ryan Reynolds movie was awful so will he be back or maybe one of the six thousand other Green Lanterns?

I honestly don’t know what to think about this anymore. DC seems to have recognized that we will pay to see a big amazing connected universe but seems to have missed the part about having characters we give a crap about being central to that strategy.

What do you guys think?
