Chip ‘n Dale’s Rescue Rangers Movie Is In The Works

Chip 'n Dale's Rescue Rangers

Disney continues to mine my childhood for all the dollars.

[The Hollywood Reporter](http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-vision/disney-reviving-chip-n-dale-676161):

> Chip ‘n’ Dale, Disney’s classic cartoon chipmunk duo, is being revived with the goal of becoming a big-screen feature.

> The studio has picked up a pitch from Robert Rugan, an award-winning commercials director, who is writing an updated take on the characters in what is being envisioned as a live-action/CG hybrid.

> Mandeville Films/TV, the Disney-based production shingle run by David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman that is also behind the studio’s Muppets franchise, is producing.

If you’re like me, an actual 90s kid, then you probably grew up watching and loving Rescue Rangers so on the one hand seeing them on the big screen could be cool if it’s handled in such a way that it appeals to everyone (such as 2011’s _The Muppets_ was). Then again it could go the way of the _Smurfs_ and _Alvin and the Chipmunks_ movies and just be aimed squarely at kids.

That’s not a terrible thing, those movies make lots of money and are a blast for kids, I just kinda wish they’d make movies for me now out of properties from my childhood.

At least the guy they have doing it has a good track record. Google around for some of his commercials and short films, they’re mostly pretty great.
