The Lego Movie

I’ve actually been avoiding clips and things from The Lego Movie because I don’t want anything spoiled but this ‘Behind the Bricks’ trailer is too damn cute to ignore (and doesn’t seem to spoil anything).

Trailers / Comments Off on 3 Days to Kill Trailer: This Could Be Kevin Costner’s ‘Taken’

3 Days To Kill

Remember a couple of years ago how none of us really knew how much of a badass that Liam Neeson is? And then he made Taken and now he’s in all the action movies?

3 Days to Kill could do that for Kevin Costner if it’s good. Which it might be.

Jesse Eisenberg

Jeremy Irons

Yup, you read that right. Superman vs. Batman has cast two more key roles. Jesse Eisenberg joins as Superman’s arch nemesis Lex Luthor and Jeremy Irons as Bruce Wayne’s trusty butler Alfred.

My confidence in this movie has actually just gone up a bit.

The Rover

Nobody does post apocalyptic like the Aussies. Maybe that’s because they live in a place located 3/4 of a mile from the surface of the sun/*? Probably not, but either way here comes another post apocalyptic film from Australia starring Guy Pearce and Robert Pattinson, written and directed by David Michod (the guy who wrote and directed Animal Kingdom which if you haven’t seen go see).

Let’s watch a trailer!

Posters / Comments Off on New Noah Superbowl Spot + Poster: Brooding in the Rain

Noah

Noah is bound to be a weird movie; the premise of following Noah as he builds the ark but with all the weirdness from the old testament left in and directed by Darren Aronofsky is certainly… unique. So here’s a new poster and the sport that will air during the Superbowl.

Anthony and Joe Russo to Direct Captain America 3

News / Comments Off on Anthony and Joe Russo to Direct Captain America 3

Captain America: The Winter Soldier

Captain America: The Winter Soldier isn’t even out yet but just in case a third film didn’t feel inevitable enough Variety is reporting that the Russo’s will be back to direct a third instalment. When it’s green lit. Which of course neither they nor Marvel have any comment about.

Still none of this should be surprising. In fact I was kind of expecting the news after Cap 2’s first weekend to go something along the lines of “Cap 2 makes all the money, Cap 3 official green lit” or something to that effect.

Cap 2 is out on April 4th so we’ll see if all the fuss is worth it then but I, for one, hope it is.

Review: Nidhogg (PC)

Nidhogg

If games are dancing, then Nidhogg is the Argentinian Tango. Grace and blood, attacks and parries, personal space being fiercely invaded time and time again. Swift moves sometimes sliding into long-held pauses with heartbeat percussion as underscore. The name for developer Messhof’s newly-released fencing-come-LSD-trip comes from a huge dragon featured in Norse mythology, whose primary interest was the chewing of both life-trees and on the bodies of the unfit for eternity.

And once this game has you, there couldn’t be a more apt title.

I, Frankenstein

Sometimes Hollywood makes terrible movies. Sometimes Hollywood makes movies that are so bad that they transcend and become a certain kind of good. This is not one of those times.
