The Wolverine

Outside of the Marvel Cinematic Universe the X-Men universe maintained by 20th Century Fox is tied for longest, and is probably the next best in terms of continuity, but over all the films have been incredibly hit or miss. We’ve had two truly great movies in X-Men: First Class and X2: X-Men United, a good movie in X-Men and two pretty terrible films in X-Men 3: the Last Stand and X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

So how does the latest entry stack up? Pretty good actually. Or mostly, anyway.

47 Ronin

Did you know that Keanu Reeves was working on an adaptation of the famous legend of the 47 Ronin? This is the part where I’d tell you the legend but doing so would spoil the end so I won’t. Google it why don’t you.

Anyway, the movie has a trailer and some character posters and to be perfectly honest? I’m not sure what to make of it. Let’s watch!

Superman + Batman

As you’ve probably heard by now: at San Diego Comic Con last week it was announced that Zack Snyder’s follow up to Man of Steel is going to be Superman vs. Batman. They got Harry Lennix out on stage to read the last few lines from the Superman vs. Batman fight in The Dark Knight Returns and the crowd went crazy and the internet followed suit.

But you know what? I think this is a dumb idea and here are some reasons why.

Game of Thrones

If there’s one constant in Westeros it’s death. At ComicCon this past week HBO debuted an awesome new promo reel for the show memorializing all the characters who have died so far.

Warning: this video is full of spoilers. If you haven’t watched the series yet I highly suggest you give this one a pass as a lot of the character deaths are pretty major plots points.
